One day, he dies in an accident while trying to protect a young child. He’s a high school student who spends his days getting into fights. The story revolves around Yusuke Urameshi. The manga series is still talked about among its fans even after ending over a quarter century ago. With a vast vision that straddles the worlds of humans, spirits and demons, the colorful and charming characters take on a series of challenges in this fantasy adventure series. it was later adapted into an anime series that aired from 1992 to 1995. Yu Yu Hakusho was originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha as part of the Jump Comics line). Jun Shison as Kurama Kanata Hongo as Hiei Kitamura ( Let Me Eat Your Pancreas, Tokyo Revengers) will be taking on the lead role of Yusuke Urameshi in Netflix’s upcoming live action adaptation of the legendary manga Yu Yu Hakusho, where a teen dies and becomes an ‘underworld detective’ to investigate cases involving demons. So you could imagine how elated I was once I woke up this morning and found out that Netflix was making a live-action version of Yu Yu Hakusho as a Netflix Original. I have since watched the series, and it has become one of my favorite anime series of all time. The only reason I knew of Yu Yu Hakusho was that one of my good friends at the time had the Yu Yu Hakusho game for Super Famicom and we played that non-stop. Back in the days of Japanimation, the series that I was aware of were Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Admittedly, I didn’t watch too much anime when I was growing up in the 90s, but there were always a couple of anime series that I knew about back then.
